My entry for Black Knight Games Contest #1

This is Verminon Lord. Since he has got roman armor I wanted him to look like real roman legionaries. To make sure it will be easily connected with ancient Rome I decided to make bigger base with ruin of a column. This also would make my Lord stand out better. I used head with helmet. I reposed my verminon just by bending metal parts. I cut the hand holding sword from arm and glued it in this way so it is pointing at his enemies. I put a little bit of green stuff to this hand so it has no gaps. The base is made of clay. Totally hand-sculpted by me.

I decided to paint it in NMM technique. This is mainly because I love this technique and I wanted to focus on armor damages which better stand out in NMM in my opinion. because all colors were neutral (black, browns, beige, grays, sand-color, etc I wanted to make one special color which would complete the mini. I put a little rust on armor too. I chose red as it is commonly used with roman legionaries. The freehand on a shield was taken from some round roman shield I found on google. I redesigned it a little bit. I also attached SRQV text to the top of a shield. Romans used SPQR which stands for The Senate and Roman People". I change it into SPQV which now means The Senate and Verminions :) I decided to paint fur in brown colors as most of my new upcoming ratmen army would be in browns, but i also think this looks really well on ratmen.

I used mainly Citadel and Vallejo colors but I also used artistic acrylic paints. Red Blood = reds, Khermi Brown = wood, Cathlan Brown = fur, Fenris Gray = black highlights, Codex Gray = main color for armor, ( I think highligting black with blues makes is better but it depends on mini. Gray is better when you want to make a look of old black cloak, blue is more like new black shirt. Fenris Gray is something between both gray and blue). Leafs are made of paper colored with acrylics. To complete the mini I put yellow (well not exactly yellow) grass. Now it's nice autumn base with verminon lord on it! Hope you like it.

Space Wolf Lone Wolf

I think this is one of my favorite Space Wolf models I've made recently. That sword and bolter and special armor really gives him that extra wolfy look. Hope you enjoy it too.

Beastmen Cygor (Giant Conversion)

This mini was made using GW Giant Parts. I've slightly modified the pose and ade some extra bitz and sculpting. Also I wanted to make him looking like wearing pants made of various banners. I've added some Tattoos to make it look more chaos-like. Tell me what you think.

Great fun to do those guys. This is supposed to be Wolf Lord, but can be fielded as well as Lone Wolf with wolf companion.

Golems of Darkness under conversion

And here they are! Golems of Darkness with beautiful Azoghars for my Red Legion of Algeroth!

Well, tell me what do you think. Of course there is some Green Stuff work to do. Also those golems need some spikes on arms and legs and probably on shoulders. I'm thinking of giving them shoulder pads (to match other units but this may be not necessary).

40m bases are already done for them so I just need to paint them up.

Golems of Darkness in progress

There will be 2 Golems of Darkness in my Red Legion of Algeroth. I bought those minis from Manic Miner Miniatures as I find them really great for Golems. Those are best proxies I find along various brands. Of course they still need some conversion work here and there.
First of all the head. Mini comes from bandage head witch would be great, but I want to stick close to picture of Golem in rulebook, so I need to change it to look more like Razide head. I could not copy Razide head coz it is too big, I need to sculpt it on my own.
Secondly spikes. Golem needs some spikes. There would be some on shoulders and on knees.
Thirdly the Azoghar. Yep, that crushing weapon would be taken from Algeroth's Nepharite. As I want to make it as much similiar to that one my Nepharite has as possible.
Here's whats I've got now.

I present you White Dwarf Lord. From whole minis I've ever painted or converted this is the one I love the most. I did a lot of Green Stuff work to make him look like this. Also weapon is made from plasticard. I just think this is my best mini ever!
